Direct answer

Stop the server, back up its existing save, and copy the complete single-player world directory. Set level-name to that copied folder name and test offline.

Recommended procedure

  1. Locate the single-player save directory under the client’s saves folder and close Minecraft before copying.
  2. Include level.dat, region/, entities/, poi/, datapacks and DIM-1/DIM1 when present.
  3. Use matching or supported newer server software; back up all pre-existing server saves before replacing or importing files.
  4. Set the server’s level-name and start on a nonpublic staging server to inspect spawn and player data.

What to do next

If the imported world used mods or datapacks, install the matching required content before testing. Player inventories may use different identity storage when moving between single-player and online dedicated server contexts.

How to verify the result

Visit your structures, use Nether and End portals, and check items, advancements and custom dimensions before publishing.

Version and compatibility notes

Java and Bedrock world formats are not directly interchangeable. Modded dimensions and registries may be missing if the server uses different loader/mod versions.
