Direct answer

A full reset means creating a fresh world save; it is destructive. Shut the server down and copy every required dimension and plugin-managed world before removing or renaming any folders.

Recommended procedure

  1. Announce the reset and check that no plugin or proxy is writing to the target world.
  2. Run save-all flush and stop, then verify the server process has exited.
  3. Copy the entire world and any separate Nether/End folders to a dated backup on another disk. Do not treat a snapshot from the same live folder as sufficient.
  4. Rename the world folder to an archival name, rather than deleting it as the first operation; start the server to generate the replacement.

What to do next

If you need to retain player inventories or claims, migrate them intentionally with plugin-specific tools. A world reset does not automatically reset permissions, economy or player statistics.

How to verify the result

Check the new seed, spawn point, world border, portals and plugin claims, then perform a trial restore from the archived world.

Version and compatibility notes

The relevant dimension layout differs across Vanilla, Paper and modded setups. Do not rename only region/ while leaving old entities/ and poi/ data; that can create inconsistent worlds.
