Direct answer
A Mixin transformer error is a mod transformation failure. Read the first `InvalidMixinException`, target class/method, and mod/mixin name; then correct the incompatible mod/loader/game-version combination. Random JVM flags do not repair a bad Mixin target.
What it means
Trace the first mixin-related cause in the log to incompatible mods, loader versions, or side-specific code.
If you are a player
- Use the exact modpack profile the server expects: Minecraft version, loader, pack release, and required client-side mods.
- Do not “update everything” one mod at a time unless the pack author documents that combination; it can create a different mismatch.
- Save your client
latest.logor crash report from the failed attempt and give the owner the first loader/registry/Mixin error.
If you run the server
- Read the first Mixin exception and identify the named mixin, target class/method, and owning mod.
- Match the exact Minecraft version, loader, mappings/modpack release, and mod versions expected by that build.
- Remove/update the incompatible mod on a test copy rather than changing random JVM flags or world files.
- If the pack is curated, restore the pack’s known-good manifest instead of individually updating coremods/mixin-heavy mods.
